Currant Breadfast Bread

1 1/2 cup flour
2teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup currants
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 Tablespoon sugar

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream the shortening and gradually add the sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add dry ingredients to this mixture, alternating with the milk.
 Pour into greased bread pan. mix together currants, cinnamon and sugar- sprinkle over batter. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Break into pieces and serve with butter..
