God did His part in freeing you from sin;
you have to do your part in giving it up.
When you accept Jesus as your Savior, you are set free from the penalty of sin. You are also freed from the control of sin. But that does not mean that you are free from the choice of sin.
As long as you live in a world where sin and Satan are present, you will daily face opportunities to choose thoughts, language, and conduct that displease God. Before you belonged to God, you were entrapped by your sin nature. But with your salvation, you were not only freed from sin's eternal death penalty, but you were also freed from the snare of sin. You are really free to choose godly living in every situation.
What kind of choices will you be making today?
Thank God? Once you were slaves of sin...
But now you are free from the power of sin
and have become slaves of God.
Now you do those things that lead to holiness
and result in eternal life.
