Spend time in God's Word
because its lessons are timeless.
Do you know the most common complaint about physicians? It has nothing to do with their ability. People don't like the outdated magazines in their doctor's office. Nobody likes stale news or outdated stories. Articles quickly become irrelevant in our fast -changing society.
The bible doesn't have an expiration date. It is timeless. Its description of God is never obsolete because God's nature never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, so what was written about Him centuries ago by Moses, and King David, and the apostle Paul is still true today.
Oh the stories of shepherds and life in ancient palestine may differ from our contemporary cultural experience, but God's plan to connect with the human race through Jesus Christ hasn't changed. The trueth and message of the Bible will never be outdated. (Hey, maybe doctors should put copies of the Bible in their waiting rooms.)
Your justice is eternal, and your law is perfectly true. As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.
PSALM 119:142-143
