The Longing For Power

Embrace the power of love. Reject the love of power.

The last of the "big three"temptations is power. From your position as a student or laborer or office manager or pastor, you may fell that power will never temp you. Think Again.

Jesus came to earth as a servant (Phil.2:7). The prophet Isaiah wrote that Jesus was "despised and rejected a man of sorrow"(Isa. 53:3)If anyone was immune to the temptation of power, it was Jesus. Yet that's exactly where Satan tempted Him. He offered Jesus the world if only Jesus would kneel down and worship him (Matt. 4:9).

Satan used that tactic on Jesus, and you can be sure he will use it on you. Th only way you can resist is to do what Jesus did. Tell Satan to take a hike, and rely on the Word of God.

"Get out of her, Satan, "Jesus told him.

"For the Scriptures say,

'You must worship the Lord your God;

serve only him.
