Word Powder

Develop your vocabulary not to impress others, but to bless them.

Words are amazingly versatile. They can be destructive weapons, or they can be agents of peace. Words can kill, and words can heal. Every day we make choices as to  how we are going to use our words, or at least we should. Too often we speak before we think. We throw our words out there carelessly rather than thoughtfully, and once they're out there, we can't take them back.

We can do better! It's not just a matter of thinking before we speak (although that's a great place to start). We need to build our vocabulary to include those words that edify and encourage others. The negative words come all too naturally (because that's mainly what we hear), but positive words take work. You also have to know the person you're encouraging so your words don't seem like insincere flattery.

Kind words are like honey-
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.
