Resurrection Rolls

Ressurection Rolls Easter Breakfast: Resurrection Rolls
Resurrection Rolls have been an Easter breakfast tradition in our house for as long as I can remember. They’re called resurrection rolls {or empty tomb rolls} because when you bake them they become hollow, representing the empty tomb of Easter morning. It’s not only a tasty treat but a wonderful way to explain the meaning of Easter.

The crescent rolls represent the cloth that Jesus was wrapped in. The marshmallow represents Jesus. The butter/cinnamon sugar represents the oils and spices that were used to anoint the body of Jesus. Wrapping of the crescent roll around the covered marshmallow represents the wrapping of Jesus’ body after death. The oven represents the tomb, and once the rolls are baked they become hollow, representing that the tomb is empty and Jesus has risen!

What you’ll need:
1 can of refrigerated crescent rolls
8 large marshmallows
2-3 tablespoons unsalted butter – melted
1/4 cup cinnamon sugar
What to do:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Unroll crescent roll triangles and place them on a rimmed cookie sheet that has been lined with a silpat {or other silicone mat}.
3. Dip marshmallow into melted butter and then roll all sides in cinnamon sugar. Place covered marshmallow on the widest end of crescent roll. Roll crescent roll over marshmallow, making sure that it’s sealed on all sides{otherwise the marshmallow will leak}. Place on baking sheet. Continue until all are complete.
4. Bake for approximately 10-12 minutes OR until golden. Allow rolls to cool for 1-2 minutes before serving.
